Clarke completed his Master's degree in Theology & Religious Studies at York St John University, where he developed a passion for liberal theology, and ordinary theology — the expression of theological thoughts and reflections from those with no formal theological education or background. In his services, Clarke often takes inspiration from popular culture, such as music, film, and television, to explore some of life's big questions.

Aside from leading worship services, Clarke is also a committee member of the church, acting as both Safeguarding Lead and Communications Officer.
